Niti Ranjan Biswas is an exciting Tabla player and percussionist who has managed to incorporate an appealing blend of tradition and creativity into his music. Based in Amsterdam he is now one of the most sought after tabla players in Europe and has played with some of the great names of Indian classical music including the legend Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia (Flute), Niladrikumar (Sitar), Kala Ramnath (Violin), Dhruba Ghosh (Sarangi), Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee (sitar), Buddhadev Das Gupta (Sarod), Pt. Rajan-Sajan Misra, as well as with Metropole Orchestra, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Concertgebouw Jazz Orchestra etc.
Niti is working as ‘Head of Studies and Coordinator’ at The Conservatory of Rotterdam’s Indian Music Department (Codarts Rotterdam), as well as teaching at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He is one of the few Tabla artists suitably qualified to absorb Jazz and world influences into his Tabla playing in a meaningful and innovative way.
Niti joined the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble Orchestra, accompanying Her Highness Queen Beatrix, on Her visit to India in 2007.
